Yesterday we celebrated the Christening of a new addition to the family BABY SAM ANGELO, Son of my nephew, from my first cousin.  Well in short, that makes me a Grandmother.  LOL!  We (family and some friends) had a simple celebration at Ibarra's Garden in Manila.   Spent time laughing, pigging out and drinking some red.  Those few hours were not enough catching up with other.  Seldom do we (cousins) see each other as we live far from everyone.  We only got time to see if we get to  have family events like this.  The day, though short, was totally fun!

And now on to rating the place : IBARRA'S GARDEN, MANILA

Ibarra's was where we held my cousin's wedding at Tagaytay so we already know the food is great.  Place is neat and the service is superb...from the guards to the whole crew.  Place is accessible, from my cousin's place and to us who needs to travel to get there.  It got parking lot, so no problem with that.  Function Room at the second floor, where we held the event is neat and just the right size for a small celebration like ours.  They got spacious area below and nice wooden lounge area.

We rate this place 5 out of 5!  Two thumbs up for the crew!

My cousin said that he had no regrets selecting the place.

To IBARRA'S GARDEN ...WE THANK YOU for making our event memorable!

ON FOOD TRIP: PESTO MUSHROOM PIZZA

I got no idea where my cousin got this pizza but totally one of the best ever i have tasted.  This is made up of mushroom and pesto and so thin crust.  I  may need to call him to ask where he got this and also the fresh spring roll we had during the Christening.  Love those fresh ones with sweet garlic sauce all over.

WHAT'S COOKING SEAN?: CHICKEN CORDON BLEU

Avoiding fried food for now, Sean tried baking these Chicken Cordon Bleu.  Even without oil and frying,  these pieces were tasty just the same.

Sean is glad to find this raw jackfruit available in the market.  We just love this simple recipe served with still hot steamed rice.  We like this recipe a bit spicy.  Happy eating!

ON FOOD TRIP: MCDONALD'S STRAWBERRY OREO SUNDAY

Craving for Ice cream while experiencing typhoon!  Wanting some Mochis but nothing available near me.  Something close to work is McDonald's.  So right after lunch i headed out to get some sundae.  I usually go for frozen yoghurt but wanted to try their new Strawberry Oreo.  I am not a fun of Oreo on ice cream because it makes it so sweet. I tried it anyways.  Yes, it was too sweet for me.  But kiddos will love it for sure especially my niece, Nicole.  She loves strawberry, Oreo, and sundae!

SEAN'S FOOD TRIP: KENSINGTON PEKING RESTURANT

Peking Duck

Duck wrap

Sean had these when his mum was in town.  They were joined by his aunt and cousin.  They had these Chinese food at Kensington Peking Resturant.  He liked the food there.  Ambiance and service is on the average if he has to rate it and it was a bit pricey.  Some reviews about this place were not that favorable in some sites, but then again it got locals and regulars who often go and dine there.  We think they should try it out esp those duck lovers... anyways, food preferences and experiences differ from the others.

ON FOOD TRIP: BLACKBEARD'S SEAFOOD ISLAND

A late post but sharing anyways.

Out to have dinner with friends sometime March of this year.  Original plan was to have it at Vikings, Seaside.  The thing was we got lost and we walked back and forth along seaside only to found it at the other end of the line of restaurants there.  Tired from work, travel and walking we indeed reached the place.  The scenario, it was on a weekend and we don't have reservations.  All of us were hungry already at that time so we just settle to have dinner at Blackbeard's seafood Island instead.  We had the Boodle feast, Magellan's Landing and Dagupan's Pride.  We also ordered Rockefeller Oyster and Urdaneta Ensalata.  I have been to this place before and tried their other branches too.  And i will say the same thing still... no doubt the food is great... It was just the service that is not okay.
