WHAT'S COOKIN' SEAN?: SEAFOOD SOUP

Live blogging!

Here is what Sean is cooking! Seafood soup!  Here are what goes into the soup...Soup base got ginger slices, onions, jalapenos, lemongrass, tomato wedges.  Then some tuna slices and  shelled mussels.  Some spinach for veggies.  Served hot with steamed rice!

We love this kind of easy to prepare and cook recipes. A time saver...which means the rest of time will be spent for sweet talks...and speaking  of sweet...we got sweets for dessert on the next post!

ON FOOD TRIP: Café CRAVINGS

From the salad bar. All fresh and crunhy i got from the counter, Got greens (lettuce), tuna flakes, diced ham, cucumber. corn kernel, and slices of Jicama or Turnip locally know as "singkamas".

Lemon and wheat grass juice

Corn Soup

Ripe Mango shake

Cucumber and tomato salad (which i totally liked!)

I can't remember how they called this meatballs with tomato sauce and it was kinda sour coz of the sauce but i liked it.

I was at Cravings with colleagues.  Actually, this is a late post already but wanted to share with you the experience.  We were supposed to have just coffee and cakes but since we were starving to death at that moment we decide to just have dinner and i had these! I loved the place and ambiance considering the small space they have got. Too bad i failed to take picture of the salad counter.  The food presentation i loved as well.   I loved the food and i was full!

Satisfy your Cravings!

We rate this out of 5:

Location: Café Cravings, 3/F Chef's Avenue, Festival Supermall, Corporate Ave, Alabang, Muntinlupa, (02) 850-4437

WHAT'S COOKIN'? : BEEF STEW

Beef shank cooked tender with leafy veggies, spring onions, native bananas, potatoes.  I love this soup! I like it served steaming hot. I had lots of the native bananas.  They were kind of ripe adding some sweetness to the recipe.

WHAT'S COOKIN' SEAN?: MISUA SOUP

Another soup recipe we really love.  An easy to prepare and cook rice noodles soup.  Misua, can be spelled as mee sua or misua, is a Chinese noodle made from wheat flour.  It originated from Fujian, China. This is one of the thinnest kind of rice noodles. So thin it can be cooked in less than 2 minutes in boiling water.  There are many ways on how to cook this kind as soup.  The most simple and quickest for Sean is this one, cooking it with meatballs and Enoki mushrooms, topped with toasted garlic and chopped spring onions.  Too hot for his palate.  Careful now Baby! lol!

ON FOOD TRIP: THE SIZZLING PEPPER STEAK

Crunchy Kani Salad

Our destination: The Resort World - Manila
Occassion: Cousins' double birthday celebration (not really a celebration though for we do not have much time to really celebrate. Some people are just born to kill joy...just saying)
The Casino: We tried hitting the big one but just not my night. But my lady cousin had the biggest win among us. Maybe that was what they call beginner's luck. :) Lucky her!!!
The Pig out place: The Sizzling Pepper Steak. We had our dinner late and we thought we will just settle for Mcdo as we were really starving. The search for pizza was a failure. The elder cuz picked out this place. The last i had this was when i was in Singapore. Nice to finally tried it here. Our pick was under steak mania set which was good for 4 pax. The others had their own choices. The salad shot above was part of the set. Excuse me for not being attentive on the names of dishes for i was too busy taking their pics. Yes, that's what i usually do when we are out and cousins don't mind me taking shots of their food before they eat them. I shot, they eat later.LOL!

A little blurry but i assure you it was a corn soup!

The Eggdrop soup
(in short, i know the name was quite longer)

Orange Juice

Spag with 3 big meatballs

My burger steak
(yes, i forgot to have my rice. I wonder where did it go.)

Sizzling beef and sunny side up

Fried Chicken cutlets

Calamari rings

Cream Dory fillet and potato wedges

Another of their sizzling beef

Sizzling Chicken, of which really came late.

Food were great, serving sizes just good enough. The service..I am not that happy about. Facts: there were not much people at that time when we were there. And like what i have mentioned, the one for my cousin came late which was also part of our set. He was almost done with his rice pigging it out without his sizzling. Another thing, we had beef which obviously not cut like bite sizes, don't knives included in the utensils just readily and that we have to asked first for those? (just saying).

Anyways, we had a good dinner. Laughter was the main dish! I just love going out with my cousins like this. We rarely see each other that is why when we get together we always have a blast.

I am looking forward for more of these get-together moments!

WHAT'S COOKIN' SEAN? : JAMAICAN CURRIED OSSO BUCCO

And this is the specialty of the week, Jamaican Curried Osso Bucco and those spices went into the soup!  Oh this is so tender!  Sean finished this bowl up with no rice.  Now he said he felt guilty after hahaha!  He put carrots and potatoes in it. Then sprinkled over some freshly chopped parsley.  This is just timely, a hot soup for a cold night.
