ON FOOD TRIP: MCDONALD'S STRAWBERRY OREO SUNDAY

Craving for Ice cream while experiencing typhoon!  Wanting some Mochis but nothing available near me.  Something close to work is McDonald's.  So right after lunch i headed out to get some sundae.  I usually go for frozen yoghurt but wanted to try their new Strawberry Oreo.  I am not a fun of Oreo on ice cream because it makes it so sweet. I tried it anyways.  Yes, it was too sweet for me.  But kiddos will love it for sure especially my niece, Nicole.  She loves strawberry, Oreo, and sundae!

ON FOOD TRIP: J.CO DONUTS & COFFEE

What we've got on this box: Forrest Glam, Avocado Dicaprio, Snowhite, Choconutzy, Oreology & Heaven Berry

Another to-die-for sweetness!  But getting them is not that easy.  You will have to fall in line and be ready to get served like after 20 to 30 minutes.  Like i said i am not into sweets much but these donuts are not too sweet for me so it's a YAY!  Remember when you plan to get them, they are cheaper by the dozen.

ON FOOD TRIP: MOCHIKO MOCHI

Mochiko Mochi in Vanilla Rose, Avocado and Mango & yogurt

Mochiko mochi a day keeps the cravings away...  or should i say, intensifies the cravings more.

We just can't get enough.  Our favorite hang out like after dinner with colleagues is staying at Mochiko shop for some mochis.  I  am to blame tagging them up to this addiction.  Now every time we dine out somewhere at ATC, we always end up having desserts here. That is what we have in common, the love for mochi!

ON FOOD TRIP: CLASSIC CRAVINGS MANGO CAKE

A gift for my niece, Nicole.

Classic Mango cake from Cravings is to die for if you have sweet tooth.  The side of the cake is purely white chocolate.  The cake is layered with cream and chiffon, and topped with mango slices and syrup.  It is not too sweet, reason why i loved it.  I satisfied my cravings!

We rate this out of 5:
Design and Packaging: 5
Cake over all presentation: 5
Sweetness: 4 (not too sweet, which is good for me),
3 (on the white choco siding, too sweet for me)
Will recomend: Yay

ON FOOD TRIP: STRAWBERRIES, KISSES & ICE CREAM

Strawberries i got from Baguio
When in Baguio, there is no going home without getting some strawberries from the market. One of my favorite fruits ever since.  Kurt, my nephew, liked it too and asked me to bring home some.  It was just good luck that they were sweet then so i got myself a couple of kilos to take home. But then along the way, i got tempted and ate almost a quarter. I just can't resist.

When i got home, my nephew and niece had a total blast.  With their ice cream, they indulged immediately with their cravings for the fruit.

A heart shaped strawberry
I just wish we can have strawberries all year round and readily available here anywhere.  But we are living in the tropic and it's so frustrating. :(

SEAN'S FOOD TRIP: CREAMY JELLY SALAD

Originally, it was meant to have shredded or cubed young coconut meat in pandan flavor.  But since coconut is not readily available in Sydney, but using same ingredients minus the coconut, here now for dessert is Creamy Jelly salad! Easy to prepare delish! Best serve chilled!

ON FOOD TRIP: HALO-HALO

When it is so hot and all that you ever wanted were ice just melting in your mouth...Halo halo can beat the heat. It is always a summer hit!

Halo-halo is a mixture of pre-cooked sweetened banana, sweet potatoes, brown monggo beans, nata de coco, gelatin, tapioca balls, evaporated milk, sugar and shaved ice, topped with scoop of ice cream and leche flan. Shredded cantaloupe or melon  and young coconut meat can be added.  I just love the taro flavored ice cream on top.

ON FOOD TRIP: THE WEDDING CAKE

The topmost layer of the wedding cake.

This got story to tell.

Let me tell you about it later.

06 April 2012: Now this is my story.

Nicole, my niece, was so excited about the cake that she wanted a piece for her to take home. The middle portion was already taken off leaving the topmost and lower part of a three layered wedding cake by the table. She came near her mom holding the topmost part that she asked if she can take home. Thing was, it was not a cake at all but rather some styro-covered fondant to decorate the top of the real cake, which in this case was the middle part only. Aawww poor Nicole, she was so frustrated learning it was not real. Not all things beautiful are real, Nicole. :)

But she had her cake alright. We dropped by my cousins' place and we shared the wedding cake.
